Father Ken emailed the Flocknote message below about how the coming storm impacts this weekend's parish activities. Please read carefully.
Stay safe and God bless.
Dear Parishioners,
Now that our first snowstorm of the winter has caused us to cancel the open house and religious education classes this Sunday, it leads to the question whether Masses are also cancelled this Sunday.
It has never been my policy to officially cancel Lord’s Day Masses on the weekend. It has been my experience that, no matter what, some people show up for every Mass. And it has always been my thought that, because I am around, I am happy to celebrate Mass. That said, we all should know that the Lord never expects us to risk life and limb to fulfill our obligation to participate at Mass.
I encourage everyone to make every effort to come to the 5:00PM Mass on Saturday.
As I said, I am around on Sunday, but I do not expect even liturgical ministers to show up, nor can we guarantee the condition of the parking lot. The trajectory of the storm now forecast sounds like the Sunday 6:00PM Mass may be the second best option this weekend, as the storm may be subsiding by then and the property may be in better shape.
