There has been some interest by men in the parish, as well as from the State Office of New Council Development, to establish a Knights of Columbus Council at Our Lady of the Lake Parish. When the Knights of Columbus was formed by a parish priest in New Haven, CT in 1882, it was his wish to have a Knights of Columbus Council affiliated with every local church. Since that time there are now over 17,000 Councils all over the world, many of whom are associated with a church in the area.
There will be
an informational meeting held on
Monday, June 10th in the Church Hall at 7PM. The Knights of Columbus is open to all Catholic men 18 years of age and older. Information will be available to explain the works of the Knights of Columbus and names will be gathered from interested men in the parish.
Wives and girlfriends are welcome to attend as well to ask questions. We will also explore the opportunities available by working closely with the St. Boniface Council Knights of Columbus in Lunenburg, just a few minutes from our parish as well.
