Here are the questions we will be discussing during the second meeting. All the material we will discuss is contained in the first 66 pages of 'Beautiful Eucharist'.
1. What memories and experiences do you have of Eucharistic Adoration?
2. On page 35 of 'Beautiful Eucharist', Peter Kreeft says, "The crises of faith in the Church is a crises of faith in Christ’s real presence". What do you think this means? Do you agree with this? If so, why do you think this has happened?
3. On page 41, Jenna Greive speaks of a youth minister in her parish who "brought Jesus to life" for her. Is there anyone in your faith journey who has done this for you? Why do you think they were able to do this?
4. In his essay, the late, great Bishop Fulton Sheen reminds us that every living thing lives because it has communion (consumes) some other living thing. This is a physical reality. With human beings, it is also and primarily a spiritual reality. And the ultimate spiritual food is Christ in the Eucharist. What have/are we substituting as our "soul" food instead of Christ?
5. In his essay, Bobby Angel talks about the mystery (and frustration) of Jesus "hiding" himself behind the appearance of bread and wine. Why do you think he does this?
Know that you do not need to participate in all the sessions. In fact, if you can’t make any, you can still do something on your own because you will have access to all the resources we will use.
